Have you ever thought what are your aspirations in life? What are your goals for the next 1 year? How about 3 years from now? 5 years? 10 years?

Today, I’ve seen many people sleepwalking through life. Even though they work hard, they don’t feel like they are getting what they want. That’s because they don’t have a direction of where they want to go, what they want to achieve, what is their purpose in life.
Many pre-graduates I spoke to, find that it’s too early to start planning. When I asked them what do you want to do after graduation. Most of their replies will be; Well, it depends. I say, “Depends on what? Depends on whether I graduate with good results, depends on the opportunities I have, depends on the job market, depends on the economy, depends on the options I have.
I realise many of them are unsure what to do with their life. Some of them work for years and are shocked when they reach their 30s/40s only to realize that they don’t know what to do next.
Most of us we know what we don’t want, but we don’t know what we want. Well, If you never set goals in the first place, how do you find out what you truly want?
As Bill Copeland says, when you don’t set goals, you can spend your whole life running up and down and not achieve anything.
Know that all things are always created twice: first in the mind, then in the physical world. The mental creation happens when you set your goals and The physical creation happens when you work on your goal and bring it to life. But without the mental creation, the physical creation cannot happen. So when you set goals, you have already taken your first step to making your dreams happen, and after which the rest will follow through.
So live your life by design and not by default. The earlier you start to plan the more time you have and the faster you achieve your goals. At the end of the day, it’s never too early to plan for your future, so start taking control of your life today.
